I grew up in Mayo, Florida and currently live in Lake City. I enjoy crocheting and
reading military history, biographies, and theology.
I started my career in education as a paraprofessional and moved on to classroom teaching
(kindergarten, second, and fifth grades) for about 10 years. I served as an education
faculty and co-chair at Saint Leo University for about 7 years. I also had the opportunity
to work for BEESS with FDLRS NEFEC as a HRD Specialist. This experience was instrumental
for building my knowledge of working with teachers who serve students with disabilities.
My research interest tends to focus on mathematics teaching competencies, de-escalation
techniques for classroom management, and strategies for regular education teachers
for students with disabilities.
